FAQs
How long does therapy usually last?
How often should I meet with my therapist?
Each session lasts 45-55 minutes, unless agreed upon otherwise. The length of treatment can vary greatly depending on your needs, but we believe in working together to achieve your goals as fast as is comfortable for you.
Does your offer sliding scale rates?
Research suggests that weekly therapy is best. However, we strongly believe that everyone is unique with their unique needs. You will discuss with your therapist how often you would like to meet when setting goals for treatment. Our clinicians typically like to start weekly and discuss decreasing frequency as you progress in your relationship.
Does your practice only work with LGBTQ/Queer/Trans folks?
What is the free consultation session?
No. Often times LGBTQ/Queer/Trans folks may find it difficult to find an affirming and knowledgable therapist, so we designed our website to let it be known that we are able to support those clients. However, much of our team's experience has also been with clients who do not identify in that way.
When you are assigned to a therapist, they will reach out to you to schedule a free consultation session. This is a way for you and your potential therapist to spend a few minutes to ask each other questions to ensure their clinical experience is properly aligned with your goals. Our number one priority is your success, so this will allow both you and the therapist to find an internal (or external) referral if your therapist does not feel qualified to properly support you in achieving your specific goals.
Life can bring about unexpected events, so we offer a sliding scale to our clients. Our capacity to do so is limited, so we cannot promise that we have current openings for individuals who need financial support.
